Frequently Asked Questions
How do I propagate Amazon Frogbit?
It propagates itself extremely rapidly by sending out runners (stolons) that sprout new baby rosettes. You can cut the connecting runner when the baby rosette has its own roots.
Why is my Frogbit dying?
The most common causes are surface water agitation (wet leaves), water dripping from an aquarium lid, or zero nitrates in the water. Keep leaf tops dry and dose nutrients.
Can I trim the long roots?
Yes! You can safely cut the fuzzy roots with sharp scissors if they grow too long. Trim no more than 50% of the root length at one time to avoid shocking the plant.
Is Amazon Frogbit safe for cats and dogs?
Yes, unlike Water Lettuce, Amazon Frogbit does not contain calcium oxalate crystals and is entirely non-toxic and pet-friendly.
